Nice Academy Goes to Bataan

On March 29, 2019, NICE Academy teachers together with their students had the chance to go on a day tour in one of the most prestigious places in Bataan. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a place where you can feed your lust for architecture since the houses there showcase old-fashioned Philippine architecture that had been preserved up to date. Thanks to the knowledgeable tour guides, both teachers and students were able to know the story behind each house that they saw. Walking for about an hour was exhausting, that’s why Kalesa rides are common around the vicinity. It is one of the best things to consider when you want to take a short rest while travelling the first luxurious hotel in the Philippines, is actually located in Las Casas. As soon as the students opened the big beautiful wooden doors and stepped inside the majestic hotel, all of them were astonished by the beautifully carved walls and stairs inside the place. Aside from that, you can feel the essence of being an elite Filipino when you’re inside. Teachers and students can’t get enough of taking beautiful pictures in the hotel.

NICE Academy took a cruise around Umangol River using a balsa, which is a small raft, and witnessed other beautiful hotels, artistic bricked walls, mosaic stairs, and arched bridges surrounding Las Casas. Of course, taking a tour would not be complete if you don’t get to eat. Several amazing restaurants offering different cuisines are in Las Casas. Among the number of restaurants to choose from, the students decided to try out La Bella Teodora – an Italian restaurant that serves authentic Italian food. Eating together brings people closer to each other as they share mouthwatering food and funny stories, and that’s exactly what happened at La Bella.

The students and teachers had the chance to play and have fun in the inflatables that were set on the water. Despite the scorching heat of the sun, everyone had a grand time swimming and splashing around . In the car ride home, nothing could be heard but the soft snoring of exhausted teachers and students. In spite of tired bodies and sore feet, everyone went home with smiles on their faces. A bond was formed that day, and a supposedly regular Friday, but it turned out to be a memorable one.
